7-lens audit of the live Meta funnel: fairandsquare.ca/start, then /bookcall, then /thankyou. Every page, pop-up, video and booking form was checked on a phone-size screen. Traffic source: cold Meta ads (talking-head videos, "AI Amnesty" angle).
The opt-in page works. The step after it breaks the promise. The ad sells a no-blame "AI Amnesty" and a free 15-minute checklist. After opting in, people land on a page about a different product (the "AI Exposure Assessment"), with no mention of the checklist they just asked for. Then they face a calendar that shows only 4 days and a 9-field form that asks for their name, email and phone a second time. That is why 36 opt-ins have produced 0 booked calls.
Every screen a prospect sees, in order. A winning funnel carries one promise, one method name and one buyer from ad to booking. This one changes the method name at almost every step.
| Screen | Promise | Method named | Who it speaks to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meta ad | "15 minutes to see exactly where your gaps are" | AI Amnesty · The 3 Step Fix | Head of Risk, Head of IT |
| Opt-in hero | "You're already carrying $670K in AI risk you can't see" | AI Governance Compliance Checklist · 4 frameworks | CEO, COO, Head of IT, Risk and Compliance |
| Checklist image | "Stay compliant. Eliminate invisible risk." | 8-Step Governance Review · Shadow AI Discovery Prompt List | n/a |
| Opt-in pop-up | "Discover where hidden AI risks and compliance gaps may be exposing your organization" | Checklist | n/a |
| /bookcall page | "Here's what this blind spot is costing you" | AI Exposure Assessment (4 to 6 weeks) · AI Exposure Conversation | Adds financial services, healthcare, legal, professional services, Europe |
| VSL (6:06) | "$670,000... That's not a guess" | "Governance-first lens" · AI Exposure Assessment | Mid-market leaders |
| /thankyou | "You're confirmed" | Logo reads SHADOW AI | n/a |
Count: 7 method names and 2 brand names (Fair & Square AI and Shadow AI) across one funnel. The ad's hook, the AI Amnesty, never appears again after the click. The buyer is consistent by role, which is good, but the industry list only shows up at step 2.
| Lens | Rating | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| 6 · Funnel stage | KILL | Cold traffic asked for a free PDF. The next screen asks for a 30-minute sales call and never says "your checklist is on its way". The booking form then has 9 required fields: first name, last name, email and phone again, plus 5 required written questions. Bookings open only 4 days ahead on a Pacific-time calendar. Result: 0 of 36 opt-ins booked. |
| 5 · Sophistication | KILL | The ads talk to problem-aware buyers with one simple method (amnesty, risk score, rules). The booking page jumps to a named 4-to-6-week consulting product with a different method. 7 method names in one funnel. The buyer has to re-learn what you do at every step. |
| 2 · Credibility | WATCH | Strong personal authority: TELUS, nearly $1B a year in capital, TEDx. But the hero strip reads "IN SALES CLOAI GOVERNANCE FRAMEWORKSED" on phone and desktop. "CPA, CFA" only appears on step 2. The footer and thank-you logo say "SHADOW AI". There's no client proof yet, and the checklist image shows "98%" and "37%" with no source. |
| 4 · Headline | WATCH | "You're already carrying $670K in AI risk you can't see" is a strong fear hook. But IBM's figure is the extra cost of a breach at organizations with heavy shadow AI. It's not a sum every reader carries today. A CFO or risk lead will spot that, and the VSL repeats it as "That's not a guess." |
| 3 · Urgency | WATCH | The VSL has real urgency ("limits the number of engagements... before the current intake closes"), but nothing on the page says so. The only scarcity a visitor feels is the 4-day calendar, and that's an accident, not an offer. |
| 7 · Offer clarity | WATCH | The checklist image shows more than 12 assets (templates, risk register, readiness certificate, bonus prompt list), but the page copy lists only 5 bullets. Undersold. Not verified: whether the delivered PDF matches that image. |
| 1 · Clarity | PASS | The opt-in page passes the 5-second test: the free checklist, who it's for, and a button above the fold on phone. The page loads in 0.4s with no sideways scroll, and phone validation accepts real US and Canadian numbers. |
Broken: the page ignores the checklist and opens on a new product. Fix: add a confirmation bar and a bridge headline above the video.
Broken: people retype the name, email and phone they gave 30 seconds earlier, then write 5 essay answers. Fix: prefill contact details from the opt-in (or send the calendar link with name, email and phone in the URL). Keep 2 required questions: role, and a new one, "How many staff in your organization?" (Under 50 / 50 to 250 / 250 to 1,000 / 1,000+). That screens for Aftab's mid-market buyer. Make the other 4 optional. They are already on the thank-you page as prep questions.
Broken: a 4-day window, set to America/Los_Angeles, with the first slot at 11:00 Calgary time. Fix: 14-day window, timezone America/Edmonton, and add 8:00 to 11:00 slots so East Coast leaders can book a morning call.
Broken: 7 method names. Fix: make the ad's 3 steps the spine of every page. The checklist page says the checklist walks you through step 1. The booking page says the AI Exposure Assessment is the 3 steps done for you: Amnesty, Risk Score, Rules. Retire "8-Step Governance Review" from the image, or relabel it as the checklist inside step 1.
Broken: limited capacity is only said inside the video. Fix: add one line above the calendar. Check with Aftab first that it's true and current.
Broken: the hero and VSL say every reader is "already carrying $670K" and call it "not a guess". This audience is risk-literate and paid traffic needs claims that hold up. Fix: use the source's real wording and name the source right under the headline: "Source: IBM Cost of a Data Breach Report 2025". Re-record or caption the VSL opening line to match.
Change "IN SALES CLOAI GOVERNANCE FRAMEWORKSED" to "AI GOVERNANCE FRAMEWORKS". Replace the SHADOW AI logo in the /start and /bookcall footers and the /thankyou header with the Fair & Square badge. Add "CPA · CFA" to the hero badge strip. Source or remove the 98% and 37% stats in the checklist image.
The image shows templates, an AI risk register, a vendor assessment, an incident response checklist, a readiness certificate and a bonus Shadow AI Discovery Prompt List. Name them as bullets under "Here's what's inside", and check the PDF really contains each one before saying so.
The page says "Watch the short video" but the video runs 6 minutes and starts muted. Say "Watch this 6-minute video (tap for sound)". Ideally, re-record the first 15 seconds so Aftab mentions the checklist and the amnesty before the $670K line.
Not visible today, but present in the page code that Meta reviews: a live (unused) /bookcall pop-up reading "If you've made more than $20Million in 3 years like me... book your Funnels Discovery Session". Also Funnels.com testimonials, footer and earnings disclaimer on /start, a Funnels.com/methodology button on /bookcall, and a Scott Weddell testimonial on /thankyou.
